Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know if you're the right coach for me?

I will only agree to a coaching relationship if I’m confident that I can get you to a better place.

Before you have to make any commitment, we’ll start with a free 30-min introduction call where we discuss your challenges and you have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We’ll review your problem statement, talk about your needs and what success would look like for you.

After the call you’ll receive an email from me with recommendations on next steps, and if I think it’s a good match, suggestions on how we can start working together. I always aim to share relevant resources you can immediately start working with, so you get a real sense of what it feels like working with me.

  • How much does it cost?

I will share my rates in our introduction call.

For individual coaching I offer coaching packages with 6-12 sessions included, based on our discovery call.

For team workshops I charge hourly rates, and they cover preparation, facilitation and follow-up activities - all agreed on a single workshop basis in advance.

When I work with organisations on product-focused transformation, it’s usually a combination of individual coaching and team workshops, with the same pricing principles.

  • How do I know if I need training or coaching?

These two areas are not too far away from each other, and a good product coach will seamlessly switch between the two approaches, according to your priorities and support needs in any conversation.

In practical terms, training is about knowledge-transfer, while coaching is about helping you shift perspective and use your existing knowledge to overcome challenges.

As a product manager you might feel competent across the product lifecycle, and a coach can help you increase your confidence and impact; but beyond the day-to-day you might feel lost thinking about your next role, your progression or even managing up in your organisation - and a training approach can be valuable for those.

  • Can you coach my manager / leader, please?

Yes, absolutely, if they want to be coached and are willing to get in touch with me, I’m more than happy to work with multiple people across any given company.

However, if your question is more about how you can convince them to change their mindset or approach, I’d suggest we should work together on stakeholder management and organisational awareness first.

In my experience, stakeholders don’t have to become product people. What we need is more alignment and better collaboration with them.

Especially for product people who want to become product leaders - exceptional stakeholder management is a critical skill.
